respectme, Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service was launched in March 2007. This organisation works with all adults who have a role to play in the lives of children and young people to give them the practical skills and confidence to deal with bullying behaviour, where it occurs.

Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner Act 2002

This Act of Scottish Parliament creates the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner. It is the Commissioner's responsibility to investigate any complaints about the conduct of a member of the Parliament.

The Act is in four parts. Part 1 describes the appointment, functions and directions of the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner; Part 2 details the provisions for investigation of complaints; Parts 3 and 4 contain general and supplementary information.

The Good Childhood Inquiry

The Good Childhood Inquiry was commissioned by the Children's Society and launched in 2006 "as the UK's first independent national inquiry into childhood. Its aims were to renew society's understanding of modern childhood and to inform, improve and inspire all our relationships with children." On 5th February 2009, the Children's Society launched the findings of the inquiry in the report entitled 'A Good Childhood: Searching for values in a competitive age'.

National Statistics : Focus on Social Inequalities

Focus on Social Inequalities describes the different experiences of social groups in the UK today in six key areas: education, work, income, living standards, health, and participation. It looks at the 'advantaged' as well as the 'disadvantaged' and explores the relative differences between them. Each overview in the Focus on series combines data from the 2001 Census and other sources to illustrate its topic, and provide links to further information.
