Meeting children’s needs for care and protection

Report on a series of seminars set-up to draw together national and international knowledge and professional, policy and research expertise in relation to the management, evaluation and research of everyday multi-professional intervention to safeguard children.

The series has resulted in fostering new links between different fields and networks in pursuit of improving data collection and use, in addition to widening opportunities for future collaborative research and development activities.

Report that presents research that has been undertaken by IPPR to generate a stronger evidence base on the operation and impact of madrassas in the UK.

It identifies challenges that need to be addressed by policymakers, local communities and madrassas themselves. It also identifies ways in which madrassas can achieve their full potential as a positive influence in the lives of Muslim children and society as a whole.

Research commissioned by the Voluntary Sector Support programme (VSS) and carried out by the Research Centre at the National Children’s Bureau (NCB), which provides an extensive and in-depth exploration of the nature of the children and young people’s voluntary sector and its involvement in shaping and delivering local statutory services and support.

Elearning : children of prisoners

This learning activity is Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) e-learning resource in 2008. These elearning resources are freely available to all users and, through audio, video and interactive uses of technology, will provide the user with an engaging introduction to the significant, but unknown, number of children who are affected by the loss of a parent or carer to prison.
