Domestic violence, child contact and post-separation violence: issues for South Asian and African-Caribbean women and children

Devised as a qualitative study, this research was aimed at addressing the existing gap in our knowledge about contact issues where there has been domestic violence as they are experienced by two groups of women and children – South Asian and African-Caribbean.

It is intended to nuance and inform the ongoing debate about this contested area of policy and law and to ultimately promote the safety of women and children by raising issues that can help to increase the understanding and practice of the numerous professionals involved in this area.

A study on ―best practices in the field of the return of minors was carried out by ECRE, in strategic partnership with Save the Children, on behalf of the European Commission. The study looked at
legislation and practice regarding the return of children, either unaccompanied or within families, who return voluntarily or are forced to return because of their status as illegally staying third country
nationals.

It focuses on immigration procedures to which unaccompanied children arriving in Kent are subject between their first encounter with the authorities and the time they are placed in the care of Kent County Council children’s social care services.

Promoting positive well-being for children: a report for decision-makers in parliament, central government and local areas

Report that highlights six priorities for improving the subjective well-being of our children. It sets out each priority and explains why they all matter for children and families.

It makes a compelling case for understanding and measuring the subjective well-being of children, and gives advice for decision-makers in formulating and evaluating the impact of policy on children’s well-being.
