Welfare reform: the impact on homelessness and tenancy sustainment for Scottish Housing Associations

Towards the end of 2013 evidence emerged in England and Wales that the recent cuts to Housing Benefit, coupled with the increase in Jobseekers Allowance sanctions, are putting some families at risk of losing their homes, in addition to impacting upon social landlords' ability to prevent and alleviate homelessness.

It puts into context one of the nation's most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath - its founder - and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day.

Demonstrates the yawning gaps in data, information analysis and research in four of the most vulnerable populations in society, namely vulnerable migrants, gypsies and travellers, homeless people and sex workers.

Beyond homelessness. Developing positive social networks: research into the application and effects of a networks approach in tackling homelessness

The final report of a research project which explored the impact that social networks (the formal and informal relationships we have) have in helping people who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness, to ensure lasting routes out of homelessness and secure tenancies. It worked with housing support providers and those in receipt of support to understand which services have a lasting impact on routes out of homelessness and how these services promote a networks approach.

Project which aims to create a textured picture of the day-to-day reality of homelessness as experienced by the women who are living through it and the insights from the people who support them.

The website is an online platform that brings together the work created over the 18-month project, which culminated in an exhibition at gallery@oxo from 14th - 18th November on London's South Bank in November 2012.

Young and homeless 2012

In December 2011, the findings of the National Youth Reference Group&'s first survey of youth homelessness was published in the Young and homeless report. This report updates the 2011 research. It investigates homelessness amongst young single people, who can be either statutory or non-statutory homeless.
