Disadvantaged children and online risk

Report that looks at the risks that the internet poses to children who experience educational/economic disadvantage, psychological disadvantage and social disadvantage.

It compares the risks, and the resources available, to children from these disadvantaged groups. The analysis draws on the EU Kids Online survey of 25,142 children aged 9-16 who used the internet across 25 countries. .

Serious and fatal child maltreatment: setting serious case review data in context with other data on violent and maltreatment-related deaths in 2009-10

This interim report summarises data from Serious Case Reviews (SCR) notified to the Department for Education during 2009-10.

The aim of this work is to provide up to date, comprehensive data on serious and fatal maltreatment of children in England, and to set those data in the context of other relevant data on children’s health, well-being and possible harm. This has been achieved through a descriptive analysis of Serious Case Reviews from 2009-10, using data from the database reports.

Watch over me: a system of guardianship for child victims of trafficking

Report that presents ECPAT's UK's response to what they see as the government's resistance to meeting international obligations to introduce a system of guardianship for child victims of trafficking.

It has been drafted on the basis of communication with a range of parliamentarians, countries in which a system of guardianship has been introduced, two workshops with ECPAT UK’s Youth Group and a comprehensive legal analysis of the UK’s national and international obligations to child victims of trafficking.

Map the gap: a critical review of the literature on gambling-related harm

Report commissioned by the Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF) that aims to ‘map the gaps’ in the current evidence base relating to harmful gambling.

It sets out findings from a Rapid Evidence Assessment of academic and ‘grey’ literature, describing the quantity and quality of existing research in this field, and highlighting areas in which evidence and knowledge are sparse or lacking.

Self directed support Scotland: report of SDS council leads networking event

Report that sets out the main points of discussion at the first event of SDS leads in Scotland and priorities identified by participants for future activity, both for the Scottish Government and for local leads themselves.
