Stroke4carers [stroke carer training]

The website was published by Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland. The project has been developed with the National Advisory Committee for Stroke, University of Edinburgh and funded by Big Lottery Fund Scotland. The site is for carers, family and friends of anyone affected by stroke illness. This e-learning resource provides a set of topics which which will provide on-line advice, support and information for informal carers. There are a range of topics including information about stroke, practical advice for carers, advice about finance and legal issues, support for carers and carers rights

Methods, tools and databases

Developing research methods is central to the EPPI-Centre’s work. The EPPI-Centre's Methods for Synthesis (MRS) programme is one of five nodes of the ESCR’s National Centre for Research methods (NCRM). Cost-benefit analysis of early childhood care and education

These reviews described long-term cost-benefit analyses of three early childhood interventions - the Abecedarian Program, Perry High/Scope and the Chicago Child-Parent Centers. All were undertaken in the United States and targeted mostly underprivileged black communities. Given this context, it is argued that results of the three studies are not easily transferable to modern contexts in countries such as England. The results indicated should therefore all be read with the caveat of ‘for the specific population in these studies’. This topic is included in the EPPI-Centre knowledge library.
