Culturally competent practice : you are what you eat

This learning object is one of a set of exercises and activities taken from the book 'Modern Social Work Practice' written by Mark Doel and Steven Shardlow. This activity is designed to sensitize students to cultural differences by understanding more about their own cultural inheritance. The student learns that cultural competence is not an absolute quality and that ‘culture’ is not something which is limited to certain groups, classes or races.

The adoption (disclosure of medical information about natural parents) (Scotland) regulations 2009: response to consultation on draft regulations

This consultation dealt with the draft Adoption (Disclosure of Medical Information about Natural parents) (Scotland) Regulations. As these regulations are subject to affirmative Parliamentary procedures they will now be included in a single set of regulations with the Adoption (Disclosure of Information) (Scotland) Regulations.

Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is a form of dementia that shares characteristics with both Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
