Supporting children with challenging behaviour through a nurture group approach

Survey which examines the use of nurture groups and related provision in a small sample of 29 infant, first and primary schools. Nurture groups are small, structured teaching groups for pupils showing signs of behavioural, social or emotional difficulties, particularly those who are experiencing disruption or distress outside of school. The survey considers what makes nurture group provision successful and evaluates the impact on the pupils and their families.

Supporting high-risk victims of domestic violence: a review of Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs)

The strategic narrative on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) published in November 2010 announced that a review of MARACs would be undertaken in order to improve understanding of how MARACs are working and potential areas of development, including considering the case for putting MARACs on a statutory basis. The report presents the key findings of that review.

Resourceful leadership : leading for outcomes in a time of shock

A study based on research commissioned by the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services in partnership with Centre for Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services C4EO. The research took place during 2010 and early 2011. The research period therefore spanned cuts introduced by the Coalition Government immediately after the 2010 Generation Election, a broader programme of cost reduction initiated by the 2010 spedngin Review, as well as specific policy reforms that have begun across a number of public services.
