This review assesses the impact of agricultural interventions on the nutritional status of children. The results of this systematic review will benefit governments and NGOs wishing to develop and deliver effective interventions. Social franchising evaluations : a scoping review

The objective of this review was to illustrate the range of social franchising models that have been evaluated and therefore perhaps provide lessons about their applicability in different contexts. Fraud and error in financial, welfare and revenue services: a systematic map of the empirical research evidence with particular reference to ‘notification of changes of circumstances’

In the context of the overpayment of benefits, this systematic map aims to describe existing research literature on the process of notifying a change of circumstance (CoC) in the fields of financial products and services, welfare provision, taxation and tax credit systems. This systematic review was published by EPPI-Centre in 2011. Dual practice regulatory mechanisms in the health sector : a systematic review of approaches and implementation

The International Centre for Systematic Reviews on Human Resources for Health, Makerere University School of Public Health, working with the EPPI-Centre in London, conducted a systematic review to assess the different regulatory mechanisms employed to deal with dual practice and the effect of these mechanisms on health worker performance. The review aimed at synthesizing the dual practice regulatory mechanisms proposed and implemented worldwide and to document factors key to their implementation, either barriers or facilitators and some of their reported outcomes.

Childhood obesity and educational attainment

This systematic review was commissioned to address the question: What do we know about the relationship between childhood obesity and educational attainment, from the research literature? SCIE knowledge review 20 : commissioning person-centred, cost-effective, local support for people with learning disabilities

This knowledge review brings together knowledge from research and practice on commissioning person-centred, cost-effective, local support for people with learning disabilities who are labelled as having complex needs and/or challenging behaviour. Review published by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) in July 2008.

SCIE Knowledge review 19 : caring in a crisis: the contribution of social care to emergency response and recovery

The aim of this report has been to examine lessons learned around the contribution of voluntary and statutory social care services in the coordination and provision of psychosocial support following an emergency or major incident. The report is particularly interested in unpicking lessons learned from previous incidents as recounted in the research literature and through case study interviews. Review published by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) in July 2008.

SCIE knowledge review 15 : mtetezi : developing mental health advocacy with African and Caribbean men

This knowledge review looks at the significant gap in high quality and effective mental health advocacy in African and Caribbean men. Drawing on individual accounts the research raises questions about the services, advice and support services currently being provided and what is actually needed by this over-represented group in the mental health sector. Knowledge review published by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) in June 2007.

SCIE knowledge review 13 : outcomes-focused services for older people

This knowledge review includes a review of research evidence on the outcomes valued by older people and a practice survey that aims to identify the factors that facilitate and inhibit achieving desired outcomes. It also contains a postal survey of localities and social services managers in England and Wales known to be interested in developing outcomes-focused approaches to older people's services; and in-depth studies in six localities.
