Health, wellbeing, and the older people housing agenda

One of three papers which explores the practicalities of deliveringhousing for older people and maximising the benefits to health andwellbeing.

It uses as a starting point the guidance provided in the ADASS/Housing Learning and Improvement Network's Strategic Housing for Older People resource pack, Planning, designing and delivering housing that older people want and, more recently, work the Housing. LIN is involved in with the NHS Commissioning Board to develop a health and housing compact that supports closer integrated approaches with housing to support patient care.

Housing providers’ approaches to tackling worklessness: assessing value and impact

Report that captures the range of activities that housing providers are involved in to help residents into work. The report highlights particular approaches and projects that seem to be working and suggests ways in which housing providers could enhance their impact.

The report reflects on housing providers’ current approaches to tackling worklessness in order to provide recommendations to the government, welfare to work contractors, and the housing sector itself.

A better fit? Creating housing choices for an ageing population

Repot that aims to:

- Set out the evidence about older people’s housing at present: where older people are living, their aspirations and their attitudes about housing, particularly their attitudes to downsizing.
- Explore the social and economic benefits associated with providing more housing for older people.
- Make the case for increasing the supply of housing for older people and recommend policy changes that can support this.

The Scottish social housing charter

Charter that set the standards and outcomes that all social landlords should aim to achieve when performing their housing activities.

The Charter has seven sections covering: equalities; the customer/landlord relationship; housing quality and maintenance; neighbourhood and community; access to housing and support; getting good value from rents and service charges; and other customers.
