Learning from Targeted Mental Health in Schools phase 1 pathfinders : summary report

The Office for Public Management was commissioned by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to design and deliver a series of Action Learning Sets (ALS) to support 25 Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TaMHS) phase 1 pathfinders. This report presents the key points of learning from the quarterly ALS summary reports and 11 interviews with people involved in delivering TaMHS.

A study of children and young people who present challenging behaviour

This publication covers the review of published material which formed a part of the larger research undertaken by the University of Birmingham. The purpose of this research was to: review published material to determine the range of characteristics and definitions of challenging behaviour used by academic researchers and practitioners; survey a range of educational practitioners about their understanding of behaviour that presents challenges to settings, schools and colleges.

Leading from the front

Report looking at options for reforming public services in the UK to make them more effective and responsive. It argues that reform should be based on principles such as a lessening of bureaucracy and over-management, better training for staff and better accountability.
