Trusted assessors are support workers who have the skills to provide older and disabled people with equipment to help them to maintain their independence. This document aims to inform professional development and training activity relating to equipment provision. It is divided into four parts.
The first part sets out the need, relevant policies and background information to the work. The second presents the theory and evidence behind the proposed framework. The third section describes the competence framework and how it fits with National Occupational Standards. The final part suggests how it can be used, includes two case studies and provides the reader with useful contact information and resource material.
