Advice and support about how to involve people who use services and carers in designing, delivering and co-producing care services.
The role of social work with vulnerable adults has changed markedly in many countries, including England and Wales following the 1990 NHS and Community Care Act. The basis for this paper is a small qualitative study of the social work role in helping people entering residential or nursing care in the independent sector following an emergency hospital admission in England (Phillips and Waterson 1997). This double transition is an under-researched area (Bywaters 1993; Downs and Crossan 1999).
Survey that is the latest in a series of surveys conducted by the Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute on behalf of the Department of Health between spring 2000 and December 2012. The aim of the survey is to explore public attitudes towards, and perceptions of, the NHS and social care services, and to provide a means of tracking these perceptions and attitudes over time.
Report that documents people's lived experience and imagined futures. It shares people's stories and ideas for new kinds of caring - caring that moves beyond servicing basic needs to enabling great living in late adulthood, be that having love-ins, eating lobster, or racing cars.
Paper that documents a series of strengths-based approaches to social care.
This report was published by Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) in April 2013. Review date is April 2016. It describes the social care and wider governance arrangements in Northern Ireland and explains how the workbook was introduced and used in the trusts.
