Social care inspection: the children’s audit - a report of children’s views

Report of a web survey to ask children for their views and experiences of recent Ofsted inspections of their children's homes or boarding schools. Homes and schools that were recently inspected were written to, and asked to pass on invitations to children there to fill in the survey. The survey ran from January to February 2011.

Thematic inspection of services for people with a learning disability in Angus, Dumfries and Galloway, East and West Lothian: accessible summary

The Scottish Government asked inspection agencies to look at how well some areas were supporting people with a learning disability. A team of people visited four areas to check up on how good services were for people with a learning disability. The team included people with a learning disability and family carers.

Family removals: a thematic inspection

The UK Border Agency not only has responsibility for securing the border but also for identifying and removing those who have no right to be in the United Kingdom. This inspection focused on the effectiveness and efficiency of the UK Border Agency’s approach to removing families, taking account of its obligations to carry out its functions having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Managing the Risk : An Inspection of the Management of Sex Offender Cases in the Community

In January 1998, the Minister for Home Affairs announced that the Social Work Services Inspectorate would inspect all sex offender cases supervised by Aberdeen Social Work Department, and such cases in a sample of other local authorities across Scotland, to assess compliance with National Objectives and Standards. Joint inspection of services to protect children and young people in the Renfrewshire Council area

The inspection of services to protect children in the East Renfrewshire Council area took place between October and November 2007. It covered the range of services and staff working in the area who had a role in protecting children. As part of the inspection process, inspectors reviewed practice through reading a sample of files held by services who work to protect children living in the area. Some of the children and families in the sample met and talked to inspectors about the services they had received.
