The safe use of new technologies

Report based on evidence from a small-scale survey carried out between April and July 2009 in 35 maintained schools in England. It evaluates the extent to which the schools taught pupils to adopt safe and responsible practices in using new technologies, and how they achieved this. It also assesses the extent and quality of the training the schools provided for their staff. It responds to the report of the Byron Review, Safer children in a digital world.

Internet-based drug treatment interventions

This report provides a comprehensive review of the relatively new phenomenon of Internet-based drug treatment interventions (DTI). It presents a sample of Internet-based DTI programmes across Europe and outlines their methodologies, providing a series of screen shots to further demonstrate the websites’ content and to provide an overall impression of the types of online treatment available.

The edgeless university : why higher education must embrace technology

Report assessing the threats and opportunities technology holds for universities. It argues that technology is making universities just one source among many of knowledge and ideas but that, through their institutional capital, universities can also harness technology to offer more flexible provision and open up more avenues into higher education.
