It is intended as a practical resource for anyone making decisions that affect the support we give young people or anyone involved in delivering services to them. It can provide a point of common reference and a tool for making connections.

Transforming community services: ambition, action, achievement: transforming services for children, young people and their families

One of a series of six transforming community service best practice guides for frontline staff and their leaders which aim to help to deliver High Quality Care for all: the Next Sate Review. Each guide has a similar framework, clearly setting out ambitions, taking action to deliver, using best available evidence and demonstrating and measuring achievement.

Safeguarding children and young people from sexual exploitation: supplementary guidance to 'Working together to safeguard children'

This guidance sets out how organisations and individuals - including police, teachers, social workers and health workers - should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people from sexual exploitation.

It aims to help agencies to: develop local preventive strategies; identify those at risk of being sexually exploited, to safeguard those who are being sexually exploited; and to identify and prosecute perpetrators. A chapter on the roles and responsibilities of agencies is included.

Statutory guidance on promoting the health and well-being of looked after children

Document giving guidance to local authorities and their health agency partners in England on carrying out their functions in regard to the promotion of co-operation to improve the well-being of children and young people and the making of arrangements to ensure they take account of the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children when discharging their duties.

Service provision for children and young people with complex needs in a community setting from the perspectives of nursing and allied health professionals

Report of a study which examined the nature and provision of care by nurses and allied health professionals to children and young people with complex needs across Scotland.

Information was gathered from workforce development plans and a survey of practitioners to build up a picture of where children and young people receive care, the knowledge and skills required to provide that care and the challenges facing services.
