Public space CCTV in Scotland: results of a national survey of Scotland's local authorities

This report is based on a survey of each of the 32 local authority areas in Scotland which was carried out between June 2007 and February 2008. The survey considered the scale and nature of the CCTV infrastructure in Scotland, the purposes for which CCTV is used, the procedures for data management, staffing and training, the evaluation of the impacts of CCTV, and, current funding and development plans.

Safer lives: changed lives - a shared approach to tackling violence against women in Scotland

Scottish Government document providing a shared understanding and approach to guide the work of all partners involved in combating violence against women in Scotland. The document includes a definition of violence against women, a set of guiding principles and a focus for the work in this area.

Growth and development: national overview

This is the second annual report prepared by the Chief Social Work Inspector. Completed in 2002, it includes a national overview of social work services across Scotland and short reviews of services in each of the 32 councils.

The annual report is based on analyses, carried out by a small Inspectorate team, of existing data, plans, reports and reviews. The team also visited all 32 authorities and had full discussions with senior officials.
