Criminal justice social work statistics 2009-10

Statistical bulletin which presents national level information on activity relating to community penalties in Scotland, derived from Local Authority Social Work management information systems.

It provides information on various aspects of criminal justice social work such as Social Enquiry Reports (SERs), Community Service Orders (CSOs), Probation Orders (POs), Supervised Attendance Orders (SAOs) and Drug Treatment and Testing Orders (DTTOs).

Homicide in Scotland (Statistical bulletin)

This bulletin is part of a series of bulletins produced by the Scottish Government on the criminal justice system. It presents statistics on the crimes of homicides recorded by the police in Scotland in the period 2000-01 to 2009-10, incorporating information as known at 13 December
2010.

The bulletin includes all crimes of murder and culpable homicide but excludes cases of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs.

Substance misuse among young people: the data for 2009-10

The number of teenagers receiving help for drug and alcohol problems has levelled after rising steadily for the past few years. The number of under-18s in specialist substance misuse services in England during 2009-10 was 23,528.

This is a reduction of 525 compared to 2008-09, and indicates that demand is stabilising following the sharp rise in the number of young people coming into substance misuse services between 2005 and 2008.

Home care services, Scotland 2010

The purpose of this statistics release is to present the latest national figures for home care services provided or purchased by local authorities in Scotland. All local authorities in Scotland provide Home Care services which give people the support, practical help and personal care that they need to live as independently as possible in the community.

Follow up Survey of Leavers From Scottish Schools: Leavers from School Year 2007/08

This Statistics Publication Notice presents national information on the follow-up destination status in March/April 2009 of those young people who left school in school year 2007/08. The publication also provides information on the change in status of these young people since information was published on them in the “Destinations of Leavers from Scottish Schools: 2007/08” publication on 11 December 2008.

National Statistics : Focus on Religion

Focus on Religion paints a picture of the different faith groups in the UK today. It looks separately at Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Information comparing and contrasting the characteristics of the main faith groups, their lifestyles and experiences is presented. It draws on information from the 2001 Census – the first time Great Britain included a question on religion – and other sources. Each overview in the Focus on series combines data from the 2001 Census and other sources to illustrate its topic, and provide links to further information.
