I Am Breathing

Documentary film examining a man's remarkable journey from being a healthy 30-something British man to becoming completely paralysed from the neck down, due to a devastating illness known as ALS, MND or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Neil's blog posts form the film's narration as he tells his own story through memories and impressions of his life - the sheer joy of falling in love, of partying with his mates, of fast motorbike rides. Through his determination to share his final journey, he makes us ask questions about our own lives.

Journeys back into work: A series of case studies on the subject of supported employment

The inequality between disabled people’s employment rates and those of the general population is stark. Despite improved legislation and various employability initiatives to tackle the disparity, little progress has been made in increasing the level and quality of disabled people’s labour market participation.

The stories provide a picture of the outcomes that supported employment can achieve, both for the clients of supported employment services, and for employers.

Where from? Where now?

Moray Carers Digital Story Project

The Moray Carers Project received funding to record on film the stories of some of the carers they supported. The purpose of this project is to raise the awareness of the issues that face carers. It also gives carers in Moray a chance to get to know each other and combat the isolation that can come from being a carer in a rural community. Why is this an example of Citizen Leadership? Firstly, in this project the carers are encouraged to creatively direct their own films, so they are really telling their own story.

Care story library

The stories in this library highlight the impact that health and social care services have on the quality of life of people who use these services and their carers. They were created as part of a digital storytelling project that is being taken forward by the Joint Improvement Team (JIT) and NHS Scotland Information Services Division.
