This report documents key findings from analysis of stakeholder feedback and responses to 'Delivering digital inclusion: an action plan for consultation'. It explores what stakeholders perceive to be the core factors shaping successful delivery of the digital inclusion agenda: citizen focus not technology focus; strong leadership; national approach, local delivery; benchmarking, timeframes and measurable outcomes; sustainable, long term funding and planning.

Children and domestic violence in rural areas : Executive summary

The Countryside Agency commissioned Save the Children to manage this research, which took place in 2002. It aims to explore the nature and extent of domestic violence support provision for children and young people living in rural areas in England, to identify examples of good practice, and to highlight implications for policy, practice and improvements in the provision of domestic violence services. It responds to an identifiable research and policy vacuum relating to domestic violence services for children and young people living in rural areas.

Summary of telecare services in Scotland

This report collates information relating to telecare/telehealthcare developments led by Local Partnerships, providing a summary of currently available services and planned activity. The information reflects development during the first three years of activity, up to September 2009. 31 of the 32 partnerships have voluntarily taken part in this exercise, providing a comprehensive picture of services available across Scotland.

Decent homes in the social sector: statistics reconciliation project 2008

This note summarises the results of a project to explore the discrepancies in non-decent social sector dwelling estimates reported in a national survey and local statistical returns.

The sources have been used to assess progress in making homes decent as part of the decent homes programmes and the government commitment to service delivery through former public service agreement 7. Contents include: main findings of the reconciliation protect; monitoring progress according to PSA7; data splices for PSA 7; national survey and landlord decent homes statistics.

Growing up in Scotland: sweep 2 - topic research findings: summary of findings from year 2

The Growing Up in Scotland study (GUS) is a longitudinal research project aimed at tracking the lives of a cohort of Scottish. Its aim is to provide information to support policy-making, but it is also intended to be a broader resource that can be drawn on by academics, voluntary sector organisations and other interested parties. Focusing initially on a cohort of 5,217 children aged 0-1 years old and a cohort of 2,859 children aged 2-3 years old, the first wave of fieldwork began in April 2005.

This summary of the 2007/08 annual report presents evidence from the first full year of inspection and regulation undertaken by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, which came into being in April 2007. The report covers the period from July 2007 to August 2008 and sets out findings from childcare, children’s social care, and education and skills provision for learners of all ages.

Achieving our potential: a framework to tackle poverty and income inequality in Scotland

This framework complements the Early Years Framework, and Equally Well, the report of the Ministerial Taskforce on Health Inequalities, all of which taken together form a coherent approach to addressing disadvantage in Scotland. This framework builds on the good work already underway across Scotland and illustrates progress with actions in support of our shared objectives.
