This resource is a brief summary of the research programme and report 'Making us count' by the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities. The research centred on four projects, covering a wide range of young people. This resource - Getting it right together on learning disabilities, has been written for all pre-registration nursing students in Scotland. The same as you?: a review of services for people with learning disabilities

This review of services for people with learning disabilities began by looking at services, especially in social and healthcare, and their relationship with education, housing, employment and other areas. It also focused on people’s lifestyles and wider policies including social inclusion, equality and fairness, and the opportunity for people to improve themselves through continuous learning. The review also recommends that for all but a few people, health and social care should be provided in their own homes or in community settings alongside the rest of the population.

Report of a study which sought to establish whether it is meaningful to think about sibling incest as a discrete type of adolescent sexual abuse and whether a boy who has abused his younger sibling might then also be considered a risk to the wider community and vice versa.
