Code of guidance on homelessness

National guidance from the Scottish Government on legislation, policies and practices to prevent and resolve homelessness. It provides practical guidance on how the legislation and related policies should be implemented.

It supports our objective that homeless people receive readily accessible services tailored to their needs.

Seldom heard : developing inclusive participation in social care

A position paper offering a practice framework for social care practitioners to allow the greater participation of 'seldom heard' groups in the social care services available to them. The paper considers four groups in particular, homeless people with addiction problems, black and minority ethnic people, people with communication impairments and people with dementia.

Operation of the homeless persons legislation in Scotland: 2007-08

This statistics publication provides information on applications to local authorities for assistance under the homeless persons legislation covering the period to 31 March 2008.

It includes information on the characteristics of applicant households, local authority assessments and the action taken in respect of cases concluded. Snapshot data on households in temporary accommodation at 31 March are presented, together with data on the implementation of the Homeless Persons (Unsuitable Accommodation) (Scotland) Order 2004.
