Low pay Britain 2013

Briefing that identifies workers in Britain today who earn the minimum wage and less than the living wage. It describes the incidence of low wage work by gender, full or part-time employment, region, occupation, industrial sector and level of education. Data in this briefing is taken from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings 2010 micro data except for the detailed breakdown by education which is taken from the Labour Force Survey 2010.

Social housing and social exclusion 2000-2011

Report that assesses how much social housing tenants could be described as "socially excluded‟ in 2000, and whether and if so, how and by how much this had changed by 2011.

It explores how much any change in the social exclusion of social housing residents can be attributed to housing and regeneration policies, and how much to other factors, including broader housing and social exclusion policy, and economic and social change.

Poverty and income inequality in Scotland: 2009-10

This publication presents annual estimates of the proportion and number of children, working age adults and pensioners living in low income households in Scotland and the distribution of household income across Scotland.

The estimates are used to monitor progress towards UK and Scottish Government targets to reduce poverty and income inequality. The data published for the first time here are for the financial year April 2009 to March 2010.

Working-age 'welfare': who gets it, why, and what it costs

This paper provides some basic facts about the five main benefits that make up, or add to, the income of the approximately five million out-of-work working-age adults to help inform the debate on public spending cuts.
These are:
* Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA);
* Income Support (IS);
* the Employment and Support Allowance (ESA);

Food affordability, access and security: their implications for Scotland's food policy - a report by Work Stream 5 of the Scottish Government's Food Forum

As part of the Forum set up by Ministers to develop a National Food and Drink Policy, a group has met to consider issues related with food affordability, food access and food security. The group has reviewed existing evidence on these issues and has developed a series of proposals which it feels could be taken ahead in Scotland.
