Children, young people and offending: draft action plan 2011-2014

Draft action plan that sets out how the Children, Young People and Offending sub group will contribute towards the implementation of the Northern Ireland Children and Young People's Plan. This overall plan sets out that all CYPSP planning work will contribute towards a shift to early intervention, and to integration of resources from all possible sources in order to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Review of child neglect in Scotland

Scottish review that builds on the first review in a series of UK wide reviews of child neglect undertaken by Action for Children in partnership with the University of Stirling and addresses three questions:

- How many children are currently experiencing neglect in Scotland?
- How good are we at recognising children who are at risk of, or are experiencing neglect?
- How well are we helping children at risk of, or currently experiencing neglect?

Measuring happiness: a consultation with children from care and children living in residential and boarding schools

Many people in universities, government departments and voluntary organisations,are doing research to find out what is meant by‘happiness’, and what makes children happy or unhappy. They are also doing research on how to measure ‘happiness’, or how to measure ‘wellbeing’. This report gives some of the answers children themselves have given on these questions.

What's in a name? Is there a case for equal marriage

Report that seeks to adopt an evidence-based analysis of the arguments around marriage equality to consider whether there is a compelling argument to reform the law.

It pursues a reasoned analysis of the equal marriage concept and its practical implications and evaluate the arguments on both sides of the divide. It also explores the experience of other countries where equal marriage is already a reality.

Report 60: Safeguarding adults: multi-agency policy and procedure for the West Midlands

This resource reflects the commitment of organisations in the West Midlands and allied local authorities to work together to safeguard adults at risk. The policy and procedures are aimed at different agencies and individuals involved in safeguarding adults, including managers, professionals, volunteers and staff working in public, voluntary and private sector organisations. Resource published by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) in July 2012. Review date July 2015.
