ScotPHO online profile tool v1.3

The new Scotpho Online Profiles Tool (OPT) is designed to replace the previous reports and excel based outputs, the online profile tool (OPT) allows users to view the various different profiles produced by the ScotPHO collaboration. The profiles highlight the considerable variation in health between areas and help identify priorities for health improvement.

Statistics release: adults with learning disabilities: implementation of ‘The same as you?’ Scotland 2011

This Statistics Release provides national figures supplied by local authorities in Scotland for adults with learning disabilities.
The statistics in this publication are a result of ‘The same as you?’ review of services for people with learning disabilities, published in May 2000.2 The review proposed 29 recommendations for developing learning disability services and set out a programme for change over 10 years.

This is the report that was written about all of the information collected by the local authorities in the 2011 collection. Please note that the 2011 release has been updated in 2013; previous versions of the main report which appeared on this page should no longer be used. Changes have been made to Table 16 (page 36), but totals and percentages have not been affected. Annexes A and B remain unchanged. This includes the national and local authority annex tables.

Statistics release: Adults with learning disabilities known to Scottish local authorities 2012 (eSAY)

This statistics release publishes information on adults with learning disabilities known to Scottish local authorities. This data collection and publication is sometimes referred to as ‘eSAY’ which stands for ‘electronic Same as You’, referring to the role of these statistics in monitoring the implementation of ‘The same of you?’. Please see the background section for more information on the current policy context, including the Scottish Government’s new learning disability strategy ‘The keys to life’.

Scottish Government Respite Care Data 2012: Shared Care Scotland Summary

The Scottish Government recently released the 2012 data for the provision of respite in Local Authority areas across Scotland. The statistics are presented in "respite weeks provided or purchased by local authorities" and then further broken down into "overnight" and "daytime" respite for three age groups: 0-17, 18-64 and 65+. Much of the data is only comparable on a year-to-year basis due to methodological changes that have taken place over time. However a number of helpful comparisons are possible.

A critical review and analysis of current research and policy relating to disabled children and young people in Scotland

The main purpose of this report is to inform the work of Scotland‟s Commissioner for Children and Young People over the next four years, specifically in relation to disabled children and young people whom he has already identified as a priority group.
The aims are:
1. To identify and review the major social research studies about disabled children and young people in Scotland published since devolution (1999), looking at issues which can be a barrier to their inclusion in society.
