Good and innovative practice in service delivery to vulnerable and disadvantaged families and children

Paper that is an overview of an analysis of the Vulnerable and Disadvantaged Client Access Strategies (Access Strategies) in Australia, a requirement of service providers funded by the Family Support Program (FSP).

Towards universal early years provision: analysis of take-up by disadvantaged families from recent annual childcare surveys

Report that reflects the coalition government’s commitment to continue work on identifying barriers to the uptake of early years provision among the most disadvantaged three and four year olds as an important means of reducing educational and socio-economic inequality (Gove 2010). The study uses data from the 2008 and 2009 surveys in the Childcare and Early Years Survey of Parents series.

Youth labour's lost

Report that presents research into the issue of youth unemployment in the UK. Rather than potential macroeconomic and global causes, it is concerned with the way the education system and labour market have been shaped by policy so as to produce what we describe as a 'young person’s penalty'.

Disadvantaged children and online risk

Report that looks at the risks that the internet poses to children who experience educational/economic disadvantage, psychological disadvantage and social disadvantage.

It compares the risks, and the resources available, to children from these disadvantaged groups. The analysis draws on the EU Kids Online survey of 25,142 children aged 9-16 who used the internet across 25 countries. .
