The challenges of developing and managing mixed tenure housing

Short piece of research into the practical challenges of developing and then managing mixed tenure developments in Scotland. A survey was sent out to local authorities and housing associations across Scotland in an attempt to gather information on some of the barriers or challenges associated with mixed tenure developments and how organisations have sought to overcome these. A developer perspective was also sought.

Affordable rented housing: creating flexibility for landlords and better outcomes for communities

People have different needs and desires for housing. Some want to rent privately because it suits their lifestyle; many want to buy their own home; and some want to live in affordable rented housing because it provides the low-cost home and long-term security they need. As a result, there is a range
of housing options in Scotland.

This consultation focuses on one of these options: affordable rented housing.

Evaluation of enhanced housing options programme: final report

Evaluation of the Enhanced Housing Options Trailblazers programmes run by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) with support from the Department of Work and Pensions,

The programmes aim to develop innovative approaches to delivering housing options/advice services. They offer housing advice to people with low and medium housing need as well as those with acute need, and link housing and wider advice about a range of issues such as training and employment, financial management, and access to benefits.
