Journeys of Recovery. Audio recordings. Episode 3

Episode Three of the Scottish Recovery Network's Journeys of Recovery podcast features the stories 'Tracky bottoms and trainers versus make-up and heels', 'Coming out of the fog' and 'Psychotic and proud'. The narrative was derived from an interview conducted as part of the 'Recovering mental health in Scotland' (2007) for the Scottish Recovery Network. It was collaboratively written by interviewer and interviewee and is available in print form in the 'Journeys of recovery' booklet produced by the SRN.

Safeguarding Children from Emotional Abuse - What Works?

The objective of this review was to identify studies that evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to prevent child emotional abuse before it occurs and also to prevent its recurrence. It focuses on the parents or primary carers of children aged 0-19 years. There was limited evidence of the effectiveness of interventions in the treatment of emotional maltreatment.

What Works for Children

'What Works for Children?' has produced summaries of research evidence on some specific interventions, called Evidence Nuggets. The nuggets present the available evidence on specific interventions covering: cognitive behaviour therapy; mentoring; parenting; home visiting; breakfast clubs; traffic calming.

Understanding dual diagnosis

Mind is a leading mental health charity in England and Wales and has produced information on many areas of mental health. 'Dual diagnosis' is used in the health services to describe people with mental health problems, who also misuse drugs or alcohol. This booklet is for anyone who wants to know more about this.
