Living well with dementia: a national dementia strategy: a briefing from a housing perspective

'Living Well with Dementia' sets out the government’s strategy for helping people with dementia and their carers over the next five years. Its aim is to ensure that significant improvements are made to dementia services across three key areas: awareness and understanding; earlier diagnosis and intervention; and quality of care. Growing up in Scotland (GUS): parenting and the neighbourhood context summary report

The Growing Up in Scotland study (GUS) is an important longitudinal research project aimed at tracking the lives of a cohort of Scottish children from the early years, through childhood and beyond.

The study is funded by the Scottish Government and carried out by the Scottish Centre for Social Research (ScotCen). Its principal aim is to provide information to support policy-making, but it is also intended to be a broader resource that can be drawn on by academics, voluntary sector organisations and other interested parties.

Guidance to local authorities on fuel poverty

The Scottish Government is committed to the target that by 2016, as far as is reasonably practicable, no-one in Scotland is living in fuel poverty. This is a key priority for Scottish Ministers. Councils can make an important contribution to the achievement of this target.

Through both their leadership and strategic role and their wealth of local knowledge and local action they have a significant part to play in ensuring that people live in warm dry homes which they can afford to heat.
