Evaluating participation: a guide and toolkit for health and social care practitioners

Tool for supporting the evaluation of public involvement and participation in health services. A partner to the Participation Toolkit, it is a stand-alone guide for assessing the way in which a participation project has been undertaken (process) and the results of that activity (outcomes). It does not set out to be a definitive guide to evaluation, but aims to provide resources, references and tools to help people develop their own approach to evaluation.

The purpose of this report is to offer practical help to develop more inclusive involvement for the future so that everyone who wants to be involved has equal opportunity to do so.

This report examines why some groups tend to be left out of schemes designed to promote greater user, or public/patient, involvement in public services. It explores who to ensure that all those who use long-term health and social care services could have a more equal chance of having a say and involvement in their lives and society.

An interactive tool for health and social care professionals that provides quick and easy access, topic by topic, to the range of guidance from NICE, including quality standards, technology appraisals, clinical and public health guidance and NICE implementation tools.

Reducing antenatal health inequalities: outcome focused evidence into action guidance

Guidance that details the specific actions needed to strengthen antenatal healthcare at NHS Board and national level. It requires action across each NHS Board’s corporate functions, including specialist public health, planning and performance management.

It is intended to support improvements in antenatal care for women, including care provided by Primary Care Services, Substance Misuse, Mental Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health Services.
