Paper that provides some early findings from a Home Office funded project to improve national and local understanding of the different local multi-agency models in place to support information sharing around safeguarding responses for children and vulnerable people.
Inspection of the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA), which was agreed by the Criminal Justice Chief Inspectors Group and formed part of the Joint Inspection Business Plan 2011-2013. It was led by HM Inspectorate of Probation, supported by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary. Its purpose was to assess the effectiveness of MAPPA in reducing the potential risk of harm to others presented by identified offenders in the community through joint working and the exchange of relevant information.
The social work remodelling project was a pilot programme developed to allow authorities to explore different ways of delivering social work practice. Local authorities were provided with additional resources to attempt to address the deficits they identified in delivering an effective social work offer to children and their families.
