Workforce risks and opportunities: social workers

Information collated to provide an overview of the supply and demand of social workers over the next three to five years. It considers the key factors influencing the estimation of future need of the social worker profession and gives an assessment of the current workforce supply.

It includes regional perspectives and a summary analysis of risks in training. This report builds upon the Workforce Risks and Opportunities: Adult social care report (CfWI, 2011) to bring social work workforce intelligence into one report.

Workforce development : SCIE guide 28 : using SCIE resources

It identifies best practice and opportunities to improve the provision and quality of occupational therapy within social work services.

Skills for care and development: sector skills assessment (Scotland)

Assessment primarily developed using Scottish data compiled by Skills for Care and Development, using a range of key data sources, including the Labour Force Survey (LFS), the Scottish Employers Skills Survey and the Care Commission‟s annual returns. A series of focus groups and strategic interviews was held during 2009/10 to ascertain the views of stakeholders on the current and future skills needs of the sector in Scotland.
