Critical skills for critical times. A conference and workshop

Includes audio recordings of the keynote addresses as well as five video interviews capturing key points from a leadership event that took place in Elgin, Moray on 17 March 2011, organised by the Moray Collaborative Learning Network.

The network comprises The Moray Council, Moray College, NHS Grampian; RAF Lossiemouth; Grampian Fire and Rescue Service; Grampian Police, Voluntary Action Moray and the Learning Network North (social services).

Social services leadership and management framework (the 4 Ps). A discussion paper from the Changing Lives Leadership and Management Group.

The 4 Ps are: Purpose, People, Process and Performance. The Framework is:
• a resource of practical tools and ideas;
• a means of stimulating new ways of reflecting and new ways of taking action which are complementary, or additional, to existing local leadership development activity and inspection and audit processes.

Effective User Involvement

Part of the IRISS What Works: Putting Research Into Practice series, Peter Beresford discusses how user involvement in public service design and management has been widely promoted as a means of improving the quality and responsiveness of services. West Lothian Child Protection Committee Annual Report 2005 – 2006

The Child Protection Committee (CPC) is the lynchpin in implementing strategic plans at local level. In this report the CPC has, in accordance with the National Guidance on Child Protection Committees – Protecting Children and Young People 2005 (Appendix 2), given an account of its work in the previous year, demonstrated the quality of inter-agency co-operation in undertaking the work of the Committee, and presented a business plan for the coming year.
