Police stop and search among white and minority ethnic young people in Scotland

This report was published by the Scottish Executive Central Research Unit in 2002. It is based upon a survey conducted by Reid Howie Associates between December 2000-July 2001. It provides statistics on the number of stops and searches made by the police in Scotland during the period and classifies them by the race of the person searched. It also discusses the views of young people and the police on the employment of the stop and search tactic and its future use.
