'Children and recession': report of seminars organised by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Children 2010-12

Report that brings together the findings and common themes arising from a series of meetings spanning the extended parliamentary year which ran from 2010 to 2012.

It summarises what the group heard from speakers and guests about the overall impact of the recession (defined as an extended period of economic downturn) on children and young people, the effects on national and local policy, and spending decisions made in response.

The report also outlines some of the innovative approaches and ‘green shoots’ that services for children and young people have initiated and developed to alleviate the negative effects of the recession.
