This Act of Scottish Parliament outlines the legislation relating to vulnerable witnesses, such as children, who give evidence in either criminal or civil proceedings.

Ethnic minority women are amongst the poorest and most socially excluded people in the UK. Yet very little is known about their lives, or how to lift them out of poverty. The report outlines 7 key policy traps and the steps needed to get things right. It looks at household dynamics, moving beyond paid employment as a panacea for poverty, and how women’s lives change over their lifetimes. It shows how ethnic minority women need to be brought back into the policy picture if their poverty is to ever be addressed.

UK Government guidance intended to help local agencies with responsibility for dealing with vulnerable adult abuse develop local inter-agency policies, procedures and joint protocols based on good practice.

The Department of Health, the Crown Prosecution Service and the Home Office have worked together to produce this practice guidance. The guidance is issued as part of the Home Office led Action for Justice programme, which said that good practice guidance on the provision of therapy prior to trial for vulnerable or intimidated adult witnesses would be issued.
