In April 2004 the Office of Health Economics and the Mental Health Foundation held a seminar focusing on the economics of childhood and adolescent mental health as part of their commitment to improving mental health provision for children and young people in the UK. This report is an attempt to draw together the themes from the discussions, along with general conclusions from the day.

Practical advice, guidance and support for health and social care commissioners and providers in the planning, development and monitoring of services is provided.

Report exploring the causes and costs of all types of violence in the UK, looking at the interventions which have proved effective in tackling violence and discussing what more can be done to reduce violence in society.

Report identifying ten examples of crime reduction and prevention programmes which have proved effective and cost-effective in countries outwith the UK. These programmes address a combination of risk factors at each stage of a child's development and the report recommends similar programmes should be developed in the UK.
