Plain tobacco packaging: a systematic review

This systematic review outlines findings from 37 studies that provide evidence of the impacts of plain tobacco packaging. The review was conducted following the publication of the March 2011 White Paper Healthy Lives: Healthy People which set out a renewed Tobacco Control Plan for England. One of the key actions identified in the plan was to consult on possible options to reduce the promotional impact of tobacco packaging, including plain packaging. Smoking cessation programmes in pregnancy : systematically addressing development, implementation, women’s concerns and effectiveness

This review discusses the effects of smoking cessation programmes for pregnant women and how relevant they are to women’s concerns. This systematic review was published by EPPI-Centre in 2004. Systematic reviews aim to find as much as possible of the research relevant to the particular research questions, and use explicit methods to identify what can reliably be said on the basis of these studies.

Incentives to improve smoking, physical activity, dietary and weight management behaviours : a scoping review of the research evidence

The EPPI-Centre carried out a scoping review to provide an overview of the current international research literature that evaluates the effectiveness of incentives to address health behaviours related to smoking, healthy eating, physical activity, obesity and weight management. This systematic review was published by EPPI-Centre in 2010. .Systematic reviews aim to find as much as possible of the research relevant to the particular research questions, and use explicit methods to identify what can reliably be said on the basis of these studies.
