Report investigating the availability of psychological therapies on the NHS in England and concluding more investment is required to widen access to a greater range of therapies along with a robust system of regulation and training to ensure high standards are maintained.

This Act of Scottish Parliament applies to primary medical services. The Act is in two main parts (Provision of primary medical services and General) and 9 sections with a schedule. The sections in Part 1 look at the functions of Health Boards; the provision of primary medical services; revocation of power to make pilot schemes; persons performing primary medical services as well as assistance and support. Part 2 of the Act covers ancillary provision; modification of enactments and also includes a commencement and short title.

Guide intended for use by a wide range of professionals who work with and support carers to help them promote joint working with health practitioners, make them aware of issues to consider when planning initiatives and the range of methodologies available and anticipated costs and benefits of different approaches.

Key messages are presented from a study looking at mental health services provided by the NHS, councils, prisons, the police and the voluntary sector across Scotland for all ages. The study examines the accessibility and availability of mental health services and how much is spent on them.

The report provides an overview of mental health services and is the first in a series of planned reports in this area. The researchers carried out an overview to highlight areas for improvement and to identify priorities for future audit work.

The Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. They produce information and advice sheets to support those affected by dementia. People with dementia living in nursing homes should have their nursing care provided free of charge by the NHS; this is known as the registered nursing care contribution (RNCC). The amount that the NHS will contribute towards a person’s nursing care is banded and determined by an assessment.
