Mapping Sure Start Scotland

This summary report maps the development of services funded through Sure Start Scotland based on information provided by local authorities. The mapping exercise was carried out by a team at the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships (CRFR) commissioned by the Scottish Executive.

The Cochrane Collaboration is an international non-profit and independent organisation dedicated to making up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of healthcare readily available worldwide. It produces and disseminates systematic reviews of healthcare interventions and promotes the search for evidence in the form of clinical trials and other studies of interventions.

Health provision for children who experience domestic violence in rural areas

This paper highlights the key findings related to health workers of a one-year research project commissioned by the Countryside Agency and Save the Children exploring service provision for children who experience domestic violence in rural areas in England. The project involved in-depth interviews with children, young people and a small sample of parents as well as service providers in the education, health, social services, refuge, housing and criminal justice sectors.

Older and wiser : findings from our unannounced visits to NHS continuing care wards

Report detailing the findings of the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland's (MWC) unannounced visits to sixteen continuing care wards across Scotland. At these visits the MWC interviewed patients, relatives and staff and examined data such as needs assessments.

Sure Start children's centres : survey of parents

Report detailing the findings of a survey of potential users of children's centres in 120 areas throughout England with a view to quantifying the reach (i.e. awareness and usage) of children's centres among the target population, i.e. parents and carers of children under five years and expectant new parents.
