The aim of the review was to fill this gap by addressing, through a systematic review, the research evidence of the impact on students in secondary schools of self and peer assessment. Evidence of how any impact depends on particular circumstances has been sought so that, where trustworthy evidence is found, implications for policy and practice can be identified.

Safeguarding children peer review programme: learning and recommendations

The Local Government Group commissioned The National Foundation for Educational Research in England and Wales (NFER) to undertake an independent research study to draw out key messages and learning from the safeguarding children peer review programme. Telephone interviews were conducted with staff from five local authorities and their partners, as well as with a range of peers from the review teams of those local authorities. Interviews were carried out between August 2010 and February 2011.

Mental Health Delivery Plan : Development of Peer Specialist Roles : A Literature Scoping Exercise

The Scottish Recovery Network commissioned the Scottish Development Centre for Mental Health to undertake a scoping exercise on the Development of Peer Specialist Roles in Scotland. This paper reports on two aspects of the project: 1. A literature scoping exercise on existing models of accredited training and peer specialist roles; 2. Telephone interviews with existing peer specialist / peer support projects in Scotland, and the US.

Young people and substance use : the influence of personal, social and environmental factors on substance use among adolescents in Scotland

Report presenting the findings of a study which aimed to provide a holistic understanding of substance use behaviour among young people in Scotland and identify the key factors which influence alcohol, tobacco and drug use among this group. The report sets out to inform the development of relevant educational programmes and materials for use within schools.
