Protecting children online: teachers' perspectives on eSafety

Report that provides an analysis of the responses to 11 questions from a bespoke NFER online teacher survey, using NFER‟s Teacher Voice Panel, that took place in January 2012.

Supporting information about the survey is also provided. The questions covered the topics of e-safety, cyberbullying, pupil use of mobile phones and social networking.

International perspectives on quality in initial teacher education : an exploratory review of selected international documentation on statutory requirements and quality assurance

This review aims to inform both the policy and the research debates about the relationship between the organisation, management and framework for initial teacher education and its quality. It aims to inform the policy debate by providing an analytical, but accessible, international review of the evidence about, and approaches to, the impact of structures on quality. Further, it aims to support the development of practice by offering a systematic survey of international perspectives on the relationship between structures and quality.

Allegations of abuse against teachers and non-teaching staff: interim findings from a survey of local authority designated officers

Research brief that presents the interim findings of the research based on evidence from a census survey of LADOs in 2011. The survey collected data on allegations of abuse made against teachers, non-teaching staff in schools and further education (FE) teachers referred to LADOs in the period 1st April 2009 to 31st March 2010.

Questions explored the number and nature of allegations referred, investigative action taken, time taken to conduct investigations and outcomes.
