This is a review of the joint inspection programme of youth offending teams in England and Wales. it charts the evolution of youth offending work throughout this period, taking care to look at both the criminal justice and children's services elements. It gives a broad overview of the progress made over the five year period and comments on the programme of inspections with which it will be replaced.

High hopes: Supporting ex-prisoners in their lives after prison

This report presents the findings from an exploratory qualitative study that centres on a key Department for Work and Pensions client group that until now has not been extensively researched in terms of its interaction with benefit and employment services and the labour market. It focuses on a cohort of 40 (male) ex-prisoners who were tracked over a six-month period following their release from prison.

These statistics have been gathered together from various official and non-government sources to paint a picture of the treatment and experiences of women within the Criminal Justice System.

This includes women in their roles as offenders, victims of crime, suspects and as employees/practitioners within criminal justice agencies. Under section 95 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 it is the duty of the Secretary of State [for Justice] to publish this information in an effort to avoid discrimination of any kind and at any stage within the system.
