Adult protection toolkit for domiciliary care agencies

Toolkit that signposts homecare providers to everything they need to write or review policies and procedures for protecting vulnerable adults from harm. It has been designed to equip providers with information on: the nature of abuse, and how it is defined; national guidance on adult protection by all four UK administrations; regulatory requirements on dealing with abuse in domiciliary care; processes for keeping abusers out of the social care workforce; issues surrounding the management of finances, whistleblowing and confidentiality; and training including induction and supervision.

Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance newsletter December 2004

The Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance (SIAA) promotes, supports and defends the principles and practice of independent advocacy across Scotland. This newsletter provides an update on the progress of the SIAA and includes details of their 'Training for Trainers' session, information about elder abuse, Freedom of Information Act (Scotland) 2002, some health and safety issues and details of useful organisations.

The Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance Annual Report 2005

The Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance promotes, supports and defends the principles and practice of independent advocacy across Scotland. This report details activities undertaken by the SIAA in 2005 including running 'advocacy awareness' training for service providers, a 'training for trainers' course, the distribution of the 'Directory of Advocacy Organisations in Scotland' and the development of the SIAA website which hosts a discussion forum to discuss dilemmas and to start discussions on advocacy in Scotland.
