Supporting young carers

This survey explored how effectively young carers were identified by councils and their partners. It also examined the assessment and delivery of services for young carers and their families. The survey used evidence from visits to council areas, focus groups with young carers and meetings with those who provide young carer support services.

Ethnicity and Parole

This site provides access to the text of Home Office Findings 222 which was published in February 2004. It presents the findings of a survey of race and parole which analysed 6,208 decisions made by the Parole Board between 1999-2000. Topics considered include: whether there is evidence of institutional racial discrimination in parole decision making.

Education and Lifelong Learning Research Findings No.50/2009 Evaluation of Careers Scotland Enhanced Resource Pilot Project

Over its 2 year duration, the Careers Scotland Enhanced Resource Pilot (ERP) project was evaluated, assessing the extent to which the provision impacted on the pupils who received the support and on the School Leaver Destination Return (SLDR) figures for each of the pilot schools.

Adult social care workforce strategy

‘Working to Put People First: The Strategy for the Adult Social Care Workforce in England’ outlines the workforce implications of Putting People First and provides a high-level framework to support the transformation of the adult social care workforce. The strategy is the result of collaboration between the Department of Health and its key partners in the adult social care sector.

Gypsies/Travellers in Scotland: the twice yearly count No. 15 January 2009

In July 1998, the former Scottish Executive introduced a series of twice yearly counts of this population (undertaken in January and July) to establish standardised and consistent estimates across Scotland. The purpose of the count is to better understand the characteristics of this population and to assist and inform the development of public policies and services for Gypsies/Travellers, both nationally and locally.
