Ethnicity and child poverty feasibility study

This feasibility study was conducted to establish the potential for a research study of child poverty and ethnicity in the United Kingdom. It explored data sources that could be analysed by ethnic group and the questions relating to child poverty and ethnicity that they might answer. This was used as a basis on which to agree the coverage of the main stage report on ethnicity and child poverty (Research Report no. 576 due to be published in May 2009).

Population trends

Article that explores change in population age structure at the Local Authority (LA) level for the whole of the UK between 1997 and 2017, focusing on change in the older population.

It includes case studies exploring the changes in age structure in the three local authorities of Brighton and Hove, Tower Hamlets and Coleraine.

Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and optional protocol

The Convention is made up of 50 articles which are given in full. The Convention clarifies and qualifies how all categories of rights apply to persons with disabilities and identifies areas where adaptations have to be made for persons with disabilities to effectively exercise their rights and areas where their rights have been violated, and where protection of rights must be reinforced.
