Evaluating participation: a guide and toolkit for health and social care practitioners

Tool for supporting the evaluation of public involvement and participation in health services. A partner to the Participation Toolkit, it is a stand-alone guide for assessing the way in which a participation project has been undertaken (process) and the results of that activity (outcomes). It does not set out to be a definitive guide to evaluation, but aims to provide resources, references and tools to help people develop their own approach to evaluation.

The guide will:

Clarity, communication and reciprocity: key ingredients for productive relationships with voluntary and community sector organisations in the new health and social care commissioning environment

Paper that draws on the findings of an evaluation of a pilot project commissioned by Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG to support the development of productive relationships between the voluntary sector, the CCG and General Practitioners (GPs).

The project was initiated at an early stage in the development of the CCG, four months prior to the new arrangements 'going live' in April 2013.

Mapping knowledge support for care of older people in health and social care partnerships: final report

Consilium Research and Consultancy Ltd (Consilium) and TWRI Policy and Research (TWRI) were commissioned by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) in January 2013 to map the knowledge support for care of older people in health and social care partnerships. The research focuses on the local context in two emergent Health and Social Care Partnerships - Edinburgh City and Argyll & Bute.

Evaluating integrated and community based care: how do we know what works?

Paper that outlines the main community-based interventions that the Trust has evaluated and their impact, and identifies nine points that may help those designing, implementing and evaluating such interventions in future.

The paper could provide useful learning for the new health and social care integration 'pioneer' sites that will be appointed by the Department of Health by September 2013 (Department of Health, 2013).
